Theater lovers throughout Rhode Island have reason to rejoice, as the board of directors of The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) – currently based out of the Pawtucket Armory – announced they will move into what used to be the Ocean State Theatre Company’s space at 1245 Jefferson Blvd. in Warwick as part of a 10-year lease, with two five-year options included.

Green Airport could become the fastest growing airport in the country…again. That was the prediction of Iftikar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation as he talked with reporters yesterday following a celebration of the completion of extended Runway 5 to give Green an 8,700-foot runway. The longer runway, the topic of often-contentious debate and a lawsuit by the city over the past 20 years, opened for operations on Aug. 15, although it will not be available for instrument flight use until Dec. 7.

The wins keep coming at T.F. Green Airport. On Tuesday, Frontier Airlines announced it will launch six new cities starting this fall. Frontier will celebrate the new service with fares as low as $39* at flyfrontier.com. The new cities from Providence include the following: Charlotte N.C.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Miami, Fla; New Orleans, LA; Tampa, Fla. and Raleigh N.C. Frontier will operate these new routes with Airbus A320 family aircraft

Now, more direct flights from Green internationally Officials at Green Airport have done it again. Today, the airport announced that Norwegian Air will launch nonstop service to Guadeloupe and Martinique from T.F. Green beginning in October. Twice-weekly flights to Guadeloupe from PVD will launch on October 29, 2017 and twice-weekly flights to Martinique on October 30, 2017.

WARWICK – Frontier Airlines, a subsidiary of Indigo Partners LLC, is coming to T.F. Green Airport in August with daily nonstop service to both Denver and Orlando, according to a press release from the Rhode Island Airport Corp. on Wednesday. Service begins on Aug. 14.
