WARWICK, RI – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation proudly announced today that Condé Nast Traveler Magazine has named T. F. Green Airport one of the top 10 airports in the United States through their Readers’ Choice Award Survey for 2017. “We could not be more pleased with this recognition because it is based on feedback from travelers around the globe who have flown into and out of T.F. Green Airport. It is validation from users of the airport that we are heading in the right direction,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. The Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards are one of the longest-running and most prestigious recognitions of excellence in the travel industry. The Readers’ Choice Awards were announced yesterday and will be featured in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler, which will be on newsstands nationwide October 24, 2017.

Pinnacle Logistics LLC reached agreements with the R.I. Airport Corp. and the Quonset Development Corp. to lease shipping and operations space at T.F. Green Airport and to lease warehouse space in the Quonset Business Park, the organizations announced Wednesday. RIAC will lease Pinnacle Logistics 75,737 square feet to accommodate up to two commercial cargo aircraft at T.F Green Airport and 2,048 square feet of space in an adjacent cargo building.

Green Airport could become the fastest growing airport in the country…again. That was the prediction of Iftikar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation as he talked with reporters yesterday following a celebration of the completion of extended Runway 5 to give Green an 8,700-foot runway. The longer runway, the topic of often-contentious debate and a lawsuit by the city over the past 20 years, opened for operations on Aug. 15, although it will not be available for instrument flight use until Dec. 7.
