RI T.F. Green International Airport Announces New Daily Delta Airlines Service to New York/Laguardia

RHODE ISLAND T. F. GREEN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ANNOUNCES NEW DAILY DELTA AIR LINES SERVICE TO NEW YORK/LAGUARDIA

                  Seasonal Minneapolis/St. Paul Route also renewed for Summer

WARWICK, RI – November 17, 2021 – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is pleased to announce the addition of a new service from Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) to New York/LaGuardia Airport (LGA). Delta Air Lines will begin flights to New York City three times a day (2x on Saturdays and Sundays) beginning January 5, 2022. The new service to a major airline hub will provide travelers with more connecting options to more locations, improving the ease of travel between New England, New York City and the nation. Flights will be operated on a 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft.

Green International Airport’s (PVD) nonstop route count to 26, marking a 53% increase in non-stop routes along with a 57% increase in the number of airlines serving PVD since 2016. In addition to the new service between PVD and LGA, Delta Air Lines currently offers service to Atlanta and Detroit. Beginning on January 5, 2022, Delta Air Lines will upgrade two of its three daily Detroit flights to a larger aircraft: one flight switches from a 76-seat CRJ-900 aircraft to a 132-seat Airbus A-319 and another flight gets upgraded to a 110-seat Boeing 717, providing 90 more seats per day between Rhode Island and Detroit.

Delta Air Lines has also recently announced that they will bring back their popular seasonal flights to Minneapolis/St. Paul. Between June 7th and September 5, 2022 a daily 157-seat Airbus A-320 will bring Rhode Islanders and visitors to the airlines’ third largest hub, offering numerous connections to the extensive Delta network in the western United States.
