Welcome to City Centre Warwick, a premier Gateway to Rhode Island and the northeast region. Located in the center of Rhode Island and in the heart of southern New England, City Centre Warwick offers an unparalleled opportunity to create a pedestrian- and transit-friendly "live/work/play" community that capitalizes upon our positioning in the region, our multi-modal transportation infrastructure, housing stock and coastal assets.
City Centre Warwick is comprised of more than 100 acres surrounding T.F. Green Airport and the InterLink intermodal MBTA commuter rail station. Our award-winning City Centre Master Plan offers development opportunities supported by accommodating zoning and streamlined permitting for the area, with Tax Stabilization Agreements (TSAs) for qualified projects - all of which make City Centre an attractive and feasible location for development. A market analysis has found that the area would support a number of industries, including, but not limited to, foreign trade, education, financial companies, distribution and high-end manufacturing.
We are now seeing our transformative vision become a reality with completed, large-scale projects that include construction of the $25-million Hyatt Place Hotel, which offers a direct connection to the InterLink intermodal center. The hotel, the first of a multi-phased plan for the property, came to fruition in part as a result of passage of the local TSA and state incentives. City Centre has also seen multi-million dollar investments in the renovation of the Radission Hotel, the major renovation and re-branding of the 202-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, and construction of the Seasons Corner Market. The Hilton Garden Inn, a brownfields development, has since been sold for $25 million to a Wall Street-based investment company, and the adjacent IronWorks Tavern has been purchased by a Rhode Island-based hospitality group. In addition, federal, state, and local efforts have resulted in the investment of over $3 million in safety and aesthetic improvements along the Coronado Road corridor, and a $2.8 million federal grant is funding a feasibility study of Amtrak rail servcice at the InterLink. All of this is in addition to smaller businesses investing in exterior and landscaping improvements, and niche industries, such as Proclamation Ale, finding terrific homes right here in City Centre Warwick.
The momentum is only continuing, with some $50 million in mixed use - including hospitality, residential, residental - projects being actively considered by multiple investors. We invite you to explore this site and learn how you can work with us to be a part of transforming this area's former manufacturing base into a 21st Century, transit-oriented development and hub of commerce within the regional, national, and global marketplaces.
